Future of the Industry

EUROPIA continues to be an influence in the regulatory arena: in addition to this year’s position papers on Energy Taxation, Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control, Biofuels Sustainability Scheme and the Single European Payments Area (SEPA), EUROPIA will soon publish a White Paper on 'Oil Refining in the EU', which will precede its 2010 Blue Book 'Refining in the EU'.

The White Paper on ‘Oil Refining in the EU’ will define the existing refining infrastructure and analyse how it has contributed and contributes to EU economic welfare through Security of Supply, EU competitiveness and sustainability.  It will highlight and analyse the different challenges facing the EU Industry and explore how the industry can be part of the solution to tackle these challenges.

This paper will also identify industry expectations towards the EU Institutions to set up the right legislative framework ensuring a level playing field for our industry and our products.
